چکیده

Legacy systems are migrated to newer technology to keep them maintainable and to meet new requirements. To aid choosing between migration and redevelopment, a quality prognosis of the migrated software, compared with the legacy system is required. Moreover, as the driving forces behind a migration effort differ, migration tooling has to be tailored according to project-specific needs, to produce a migration result meeting significant quality criteria. Available metrics may not all be applicable identically for both legacy and migrated systems, e.g. because of paradigm shifts during migration. To this end, this paper describes identifies three scenarios for utilizing quality measurement in a migration project.

Towards Quality Models in Software Migration

To preserve legacy systems in continuous software development and evolution, next to redevelopment, they can be migrated to new environments and technologies. Deciding on evolution and migration strategies early, requires predicting the quality of the migrated software systems depending on applied tools. There is a need for comparable measures, estimating the inner software quality of legacy an...

Software Defect Prediction for High-Dimensional and Class-Imbalanced Data

Software quality and reliability can be improved using various techniques during the software development process. One effective method is to utilize software metrics and defect data collected during the software development life cycle and build defect predictors using data mining techniques to estimate the quality of target program modules. Such a strategy allows practitioners to intelligently...

A metrics proposal to evaluate software internal quality with scenarios

Software quality should be evaluated from different perspectives; we highlight the internal and external ones (ISO/IEC, 2002). Specially, internal quality evaluation depends on the software architecture (or design) and programming aspects rather than on the product behaviour. On the other hand, architectural evaluation methods tend to apply scenarios for assessing the architecture respect to qu...
